Arrived in Dunedin to a pipes and drums band

Sunshine, the 2 dogs and I have arrived in Dunedin. The last 2 weeks have been an intense period of closing accounts, ending a lease, selling off all we own, preparing the dogs and organising freight for our stuff. We're amazed at how smoothly it all went. Our first day in Dunedin seemed fitting. A full parade of pipes and drums bands from all around. I had a tear in my eye.

Check out the photos of our new house in Broad Bay. The landlord has left his sea kayak and is OK about me using it from time to time. The rent is more expensive than we're used to, but with furniture and a sea kayak included - we're OK by it. Unfortunately we need to build a fence for the dogs. Haven't got any quotes yet... am bracing myself.

Packed up. Bye bye Blue Mountains :(

I've landed a F/T job in Dunedin, New Zealand. We're shipping off in 2 weeks and we're getting rid of everything to make a light load. Sunshine and I are very sad to leave, as the mountains has given us a beautiful life style. We had a very good house with a secure yard for the dogs and easy access to some wonderful walks. But its bye bye Blue Mountains, hello Dunedin.

We're excited about moving to New Zealand actually. We love mountains obviously, and NZ has quite a few of those. Dunedin is a lovely town, with plenty of interesting shops and sights to visit. See the pictures I took on our first visit.

So this blog has changed from "Life in the Mountains" to "Life in the South". The URL has to change too. http://lifesouth.blogspot.com

See you over there.
